Here are some of my student works in environment design and matte painting.
Sunset Castle (2019)
A Midwinter Night’s Dream (2019)
This is my first matte painting done in class in which I learned to customise a Photoshop brush (the trees). The composition of the image was inspired by a photo of mine taken in the Canadian Rockies. All textures were driven from my own photographes.
Waiting for the Summer Rain (2019)
This is my second matte painting done in Photoshop. I was asked to transform an airplane photo (taken by my teacher) into a catastrophe scene. Everything including the sky, the frozen lake, the snow, the fire, the smoke, except the plane was added.
Looking Out of the Space from Titan (2019)
My third matte painting involves a small camera movement simulated in Nuke. This scene depicts a nitrogen lake on Saturn’s largest moon, Titan. The textures for the soil and the hills are actually photos of Mars by NASA.
